NEW GYMNASIUM CREATED VIA VERTICAL
EXTENSION ABOVE SYNAGOGUE AND
EXISTING SCHOOL BUILDINGS
The existing roof structure was stripped off and a new composite RC floor was built off the existing roof beams. Due to increased load, the existing 18m span castellated roof beams required strengthening with a new steel frame, to break the span of the beams supported off the RC structure below.
A new lightweight steel framed roof structure was installed above, with 18m clear spans creating a large open plan space for the school.
