WE WERE FOUNDED BECAUSE
OF A LOVE FOR WHAT WE DO—
AND BRING THIS PASSION TO
OUR WORK EVERY DAY.
We are a team of highly skilled individuals with a love
of engineering. We’ve a shared curiosity which shapes
our innovative thinking, through a collaborative and open
approach. Young talent is nurtured and individuals are
given appropriate responsibilities, which generates a
genuine sense of pride in their work. Skills and knowledge
are kept up-to-date through regular training and CPD study.
But it’s not all work—the camaraderie resulting from
successful delivery under pressure means we enjoy
relaxation too; whether an office braai, a few beers
or a more adventurous sail around the Isle of Wight!
OUR INTERNAL TEAMS
Sean began his engineering career in South Africa and moved to the UK with Scott Wilson Kirkpatrick. He subsequently joined Price and Myers and later the Waterman Partnership in their Large Structures division.
Sean is the founding director and has grown PJCE into the innovative and driven civil and structural engineering practice it now is. His experience and knowledge are widely recognised and sought for Expert Witness testimony. He is passionate about delivering the very best service to his clients and in nurturing and developing the less experienced members of the PJCE team.
Away from the office, he is a proficient sailor and skipper and loves to get out on the water when time allows. He is a keen runner and enjoys getting out in the countryside with his family and labrador, Willow.
With 20 years professional experience, and leadership roles at Arup, Foster + Partners and WSP, James brings an extensive knowledge of prestigious projects to the practice. He enjoys collaborating with colleagues and design practices and, having worked in-house at an architect firm, he has a great appreciation of holistic building design.
He loves the dynamic nature of a small consultancy practice and the variety it brings to his daily schedule. James is a great advocate for sustainability and regularly cycles his commute between Twickenham and Wimbledon. He enjoys a round of golf, is a qualified chef and coaches at his kids sports teams.
Initially drawn to structural engineering by the practical problem-solving nature of the discipline, Tom has nearly 20 years’ experience in the industry.
He loves to get under the skin of every brief using a methodical and thorough approach and has experience across a wide range of sectors. Key projects have involved significant basement designs, including numerous large high end private residential projects across Central London, giving him valuable insight into the individual planning regulations across each borough. Tom also specialises in complex refurbishment projects of buildings of all ages, including the intricacies of dealing with listed buildings. Tom is committed to reducing embodied carbon in structural design through the careful selection of building materials and efficient design. His move to PJCE brings these skills to our innovative and bespoke consultancy where he will lead significant projects from inception.
During his leisure time he enjoys being active, whether it be golf, tennis, running or coaching his son’s rugby team.
