PJCE are appointed as structural engineers for this hotel development in Slough comprising triple basement and 6 storeys of hotel accommodation.
Following a design review, the Client proposed that upper levels above first floor for hotel rooms be constructed as fabricated containers as opposed to a reinforced concrete frame for cost and programme advantages.
Using REVIT and TEKLA, PJCE responded to the client requirement to deliver this combination of modular and reinforced concrete frame project.
Challenges for this project related to co-ordination of modular and traditional construction and by co-ordination with BBP architects and utilisation of our REVIT model across the design team, an efficient and economic scheme was achieved.
