Castle Lane, London
Client: Sons & Co
Architect: TW-2 Architects
A development of luxury apartments and town houses, located in Westminster. The building comprises a single storey basement and six superstructure levels, with tiered floor plans and large cantilevered corners to create a dynamic form and statement building within the streetscape. Large curved floor to ceiling gazing units will be post fixed to the building frame to create the ‘wow’ factor for both the occupier inside and the public viewing the development for the street.
Formed in reinforced concrete flat slabs and blade columns except for a lightweight top level, the building is designed to have a ‘solid’ feel, full flexibility for service routing and maximum floor to ceiling heights to suit the high quality end product.
The basement is formed with a secant piled wall which typically cantilevers to minimise temporary propping. Where the adjacent buildings are tight to the site boundary diagonal corner props have been introduced to limit movement to an acceptable level.
