the development of a new mixed use (residential / commercial) block with three levels of basement.

 

The basement incorporarted a "Top-Down" construction sequence minimising temporary works and associated movement to adjacent structures.

 

Basement columns were steel stanchions enabling the columns to be used as "Plunge Columns" embedded into new piled foundations.  Basement slabs were flat slabs erected off the plunge column steel cruxiform shear heads (embedded in the flat slabs).

 

The residential structure reverted to a reinforced concrete structure above first floor level.
