This luxury riverside property required the development of a new residential scheme with two basement levels and five superstructure floors forming 8 luxury apartments. The project is   immediately adjacent to the river Thames flood retention embankment wall. 

 

The foundations were designed using steel sheet pile perimeter walls with internal load bearing reinforced concrete piles. The sheet piles were designed to be installed using a silent vibrationless piling rig in order to minimise damage to the flood retention wall. All superstructure slabs were designed as flat slabs with a lightweight steel framed penthouse floor. 3D finite element method model was used to produce cost effective solution and check the deflections in the structure. Heavy transfer beam was designed at ground floor level to enable suitable solution for a two level car stacker system delivering more parking spaces to the client.

 

A significant amount of interaction with the Environment Agency and Port of London Authority was undertaken by PJCE in order to gain agreement for these works.
