Verdo, Kew Bridge
Client: Byldis
Architect: JTP

This development consists of three residential blocks of between 9 and 14-storeys providing 253 new homes adjacent to the new Brentford Community Stadium.

The superstructure of these buildings is a combination of a traditional reinforced RC frame up to level 2 with a precast concrete system above.

PJCE have been appointed by Byldis to design the precast concrete system. The system comprises a series of concrete panels forming load-bearing walls and floor slabs. Internal walls are placed between apartments and the external walls consist of insulated precast sandwich panels with an external skin supported by stainless steel brackets.

The precast system, which takes advantage of the repetitive nature of the floor layouts, will provide the programme, safety and quality benefits that are associated with precast construction.

The panels are constructed off-site and comprise an outer leaf of precast concrete, an insulating layer and a structural inner leaf of plain grey concrete with a power floated internal finish.

This project is on site now.
